Lance Mok is based in London and Hong Kong. He has performed in the UK, Hong Kong, Finland, Poland, South Korea, Taiwan, Macau, and the States as a recital soloist, accompanist, chamber musician, orchestral pianist and repetiteur. He plays a wide repertoire and has a special interest in juxtaposing relatively unknown pieces with more widely played works. His regular collaborators include tenor Neil Latchman and harmonicist Gordon Lee.
Lance is also an active composer. 2020 begins his most substantial project in hand – to set William Shakespeare’s complete sonnets into song cycles. He is commissioned for a new piece this year by the Playground Ensemble in California. He was named the Firebird Composer of the Year 2017 and was awarded the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong Scholarship in 2016.
Lance was awarded his Master of Music degree by the Royal College of Music in 2018, where he studied with Andrew Ball. He graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a First in 2016 and was named a Hong Kong Scholar by the HKSAR Government for a full scholarship. Lance was named a Fellow of the Royal Schools of Music in 2018.
