On setting the complete Shakespeare's sonnets:

"I group them into cycles of six songs together with two movements for instruments only. These are tied together by a common theme. The piece I am going to perform is from a cycle with the theme 'winter'. [...] I like how the harmonica can express the feeling of bareness."

Performance: Hindemith 1922, Op. 26 - V. Ragtime; Mok Six Songs to the Fair Youth, Op. 8 - VII. Mélancolie

"Not just refreshing and revelatory then, but it revealed Mok’s a superb talent, a fine musician with searching intelligence and very personable [...] Everything in this latest recital confirms that: Mok’s an adventurer."

"This [Schulhoff's Fünf Pittoresken] is pure Mok territory, with his clean attack and lucid witty sense of swing."
