From Quills to Quaintness
Tradition reimagined, old forms reinvented.
This recital explores how composers across centuries have discovered fresh paths within established traditions. Each work draws on forms that were already somewhat old-fashioned in its time, yet is imbued with a distinctive personal voice and a flair for virtuosity. All three are essentially keyboard suites, a form whose earliest exponents were conceived for harpsichords played with quills.
